Storm Kitesurfing Lesson programs are designed to safely lead you into a whole new world of harnessing the power of the wind and the waves.

Our Muilt-lingual team of IKO professionals from all over the world will show you the key basics, We'll take you under our wings. Go from being a complete novice to getting up on the board in a matter of hours. Our passionate and enthusiastic team will guide you every step of the way as we introduce you to the exhilarating world of Kiteboarding.

At Storm Kiteboarding we use the latest equipment, video and training techniques to date. Offering a comprehensive lesson package tailored to suit all levels and abilities.

Lesson schedule:

Mui Ne is an all year round destination for kitesurfing. Our main high season is November to April. With North East monsoon generated winds, you can expect daily winds ranging from 10 to 20+ Knots, ideal for kitesurfing and learning.

Lessons are in two sessions of 2 hours each. The first session, Level 1 is ground school where we cover all the basics: Suitable locations, weather conditions, kite set up, terminology, basic flying skills with a 2 line 3mtr foil kite, safety systems, de powering the kite, self rescue, twisted lines, landing and launching of a four line LEI kite, assisted and un-assisted. Finally water re-launch.

We only require a minimum of around six-eight Knots for the level 1 lesson. We will not be going in the water.

The second session, Level 2 will comprise of a series of body drags, flying and controlling a four line LEI kite through the power zone and at the edge of the wind window whilst in the water. Once complete and you show a good level of skill flying the kite, we can then progress and concentrate on developing board technique and finally showing you how to get up on the board.  10 Knots and over are required to successfully complete the level 2 course, the session will be stopped should the sea swell and wind conditions become to much (over 25 knots) or too little (under 6 knots) in the winds case. The final decision is at instructors discretion, generally 25 knots is the threshold for teaching safely.

Lessons will comprise of a maximum of 2 students per session. This ensures we can concentrate on the individual needs of each student.

Storm Kite boarding will provide all the necessary equipment and safety aids for the training sessions, with the exception of wet suits which are not required due to the lovely warm water temperature.

We do advise that you bring some bottled water, sunglasses and sun screen, rash guards, sunnies to name a few are all available for sale in our beach shop.  If you do have your own equipment please bring it along and we can then assess it’s suitability as well as help you understand how your own equipment works.

We will arrange the time and date for the level 2 lesson upon completion of the level 1, Normally the following day. There is a lot of information to take in during the level 1 lesson and a good break between sessions is always advised.

At the end of the level 2 lesson you will receive an IKO card indicting your level of competence and enabling you to use at other IKO centers around the world and take advantage of special IKO offers.

All lesson prices shown include full equipment insurance and VAT. Prices are based on $60.00 per hour for individual - one on one instruction. All necessary safety gear and equipment is supplied with additional instructional video (over 2 hours) and unlimited use of 3m trainer kites included.

Booking: To ensure your slot booking in advance is advised over high season periods (November – April).

Payments: Payment in full can be made in advance (discount applies). Should you not use your pre-paid hours we will refund the remaining amount in cash (Local currency VND or USD) on your final day with us, you can also use the credit in our Kite school Surf Shop. Full refunds are available (Subject to terms and conditions).
